I scrapped these sweet photos of my Grammy from last Christmas.

Just wanted to share it! :)

We've had another night of rockin' out with Rock Band tonight. It's just too fun!! I'm getting pretty good I have to say. I haven't tried the guitar yet. Josh is sooooo good at it, and it looks so hard! I'll be brave and try it though. So far, I'm just a drummer. Did I tell you what our band name is? "Funky Mickey & the Jedi Penguin"! Isn't it awesome!!?

Peace out!

The Saturday before Christmas we had a big family Christmas party with all the Aunts and Uncles and cousins on my mom's side. Every year its a tradition to play White Elephant! We always laugh so hard! So, I had to scrap up a page to remember this year's funny gifts and the great time we had! I used Andilynn's "Holly, Jolly Ho Ho Ho" kit.

I also scrapped this page to go with it!

Fun times!

Well, still no heat in our house and its pretty freezing outside so that means its freezing in here as well. But my sweet husband went out this morning and bought me another space heater and this one is big and fancy so I'm toasty warm today. Thank goodness!!

I mentioned yesterday that I got Josh "Rock Band" for Christmas. Well, it is AWESOME. I love it, and I don't love video games. We played for over 3 hours straight last night. I was the drummer. It's so fun, I can't WAIT for Josh to get home so we can play more!!!!! I'll try and get some picks of us playing it cuz it is pretty dang funny to see I think!

Well, I'm off. See ya later!!

{not your average Christmas Day}

Well, while our Christmas was merry, none of it was typical. Both of our families live close, and while this is a blessing, it also means a lot of back and forth. Christmas Eve actually was fairly normal for us. We had an hour and a half of presents between the cousins and visiting with my family at my Aunt's house, then dinner with Josh's family at PF Changs, back to Josh's parents house for this Christmas Eve game we play each year and dessert. Then we went back to my parents house for Christmas Eve pajamas and to spend the night. Christmas DAY was when things started getting unusual.

We woke up Christmas morning and it was just weird. My brother Scotty is in the MTC, and Christian and Marci and baby Eden are in Texas this year so it was just me and Josh and Cameron and Chad (and my parents of course). It was odd to have such a small group!! But it was still nice and happy! We just missed everyone!! Josh opened his "Rock Band" that I gave him. It was a HIT. We was VERY surprised and excited. I was so glad! I couldn't WAIT to give it to him!!!

Then we headed over to Josh's parents house around 10:30 for Christmas morning with the Leavitts. On our way over we got a call from Sean telling us that Josh's dad had fallen that morning and split his forehead open and they were currently at the hospital getting stitches. We arrived about 15 minutes before they got back from hospital. Josh's dad was ok, but obviously in pain and a little bit woozy. So we had a quite a delay getting things going there. But again, we were able to give each other our gifts and have a good time. But Josh's parents go a little NUTS with presents. They give WAY WAY WAY too many!! It was a MARATHON as Josh described it. We opened presents for almost 4 hours straight. It was insane!!! Of course we are so appreciative of all they give us, but man oh man! That was a LOT of opening presents.

So around 3:30 Josh and I finally get packed up and head to our house to drop off our first of two loads of presents. We walk in the door and the carbon monoxide detectors are going off. Great. About a month ago, they went off, we had to evacuate, the readings were SUPER high and it turns out the furnace needed to be fixed. We had no heat for over a week or so, and then when it got fixed the landlords didn't bother to tell us so we went without heat for at least two days longer than we needed to. The whole thing is downstairs where the landlords son and daughter in law and kids live so they handled everything last time. But obviously it didn't get fixed right. Well, the downstairs people were out of town and not answering their cell phones. So Josh let himself in and turned off the detector only to have it turn on again right away. We knew we needed to get out. We left messages on their cell phones, changed into actual clothes (we were still in our Christmas pajamas) and headed back to Josh's parents' house. I was so upset. I was hungry and cold and soooo tired. I just wanted to go into our house, unpack some presents and lie down in my bed for a little while before we had to go back to Josh's parents house for Christmas dinner. But, no!!

As we pull up to Josh's parents house, the people downstairs finally call back and we have to go all the way back home again to follow his instructions on turning off the gas. He said he wasn't planning on being home for another two and half days, but he might come home early. Come to find out he's only in Eagle Mountain which is like a half hour away. Oh brother!!! (Have you gotten the gist that our landlords SUCK by now). He says he's going to come over sometime during the day and not to stay at the house but to call him that night when we get home.

So we go to Josh's parents, try and relax for a bit, before having to get up and get things ready for dinner. Dinner turned out to be lovely. Yummy ham and salad and my first batch of Au-gratin Potatoes ever. It was nice. But through dinner its obvious that Josh's dad does not feel well. As we are starting to finish dinner he decides to go upstairs and lie down. Not much longer he comes back down and says he wants to go back to the hospital because he's just in too much pain.

So the guys all give him a blessing and the Sean takes him back to the hospital. Our game of Apples to Apples that was in the works sort of lost its thunder and we all decided to pack up and call it a night.

We get home and can't get a hold of the people downstairs AGAIN. And we don't feel comfortable trusting his assessment of the situation anyway. So Josh calls the fire department and the next thing I know, I'm standing outside wrapped in my "Enchanted" blanket that Josh gave me for Christmas, waiting with a police officer for the fire department to come. They go through the house with Josh and get a small reading of Carbon Monoxide near the furnace. They dispatch the gas company to come out. But before they left, the reading had gone down to almost zero.

In the middle of all this, we got a text from Sean saying they ordered a cat-scan for Josh's dad and if it comes back ok, they will give him some pain medication for his injury.

The fire department and the ambulance and the cop all leave and I call our landlord who lives in California. He is a little gruff with me, and seems annoyed and immediately hands the phone over to our downstairs neighbors. YES, he is IN UTAH for Christmas and could be handling this all himself! Oh man, I was ticked off!!!!

Through a lot of talking with the guy who lives downstairs we get all our stories straight and they told us that they would take care of it as soon as they could. Whatever! Then the gas man gets here and spends a LOT of time walking through the house talking to Josh trying to detect Carbon Monoxide. He detects nothing. They turn on the furnace and the readings of Carbon Monoxide that the furnace is putting out are way over the normal limit. He red-tagged our furnace (whatever that means). So basically we just need a new furnace.

As all that was winding down we got a text saying the cat-scan came back fine and that Josh's dad is ok. I hope he is feeling better today. Josh has had a couple calls from him this morning asking about our house and the heat and said he sounded ok.

Wow, this is a long story but the bottom line is we have no heat. We are trying to keep warm with space heaters. I wish you could see me right now, I'm bundled from head to foot in my freezing cold living room with two space heaters blasting at me. But its still cold. We've decided enough is enough, and we've started looking for a new place to live. We'll see if we can find anything.

So yes, it was a weird Christmas. It was good, and we did have a nice time with family, but so many crazy things happened, it was NOT your average Christmas Day!

Sorry for the novel!! If you are still reading this you are a champ!!

{B is for . . .}

Merry Christmas Eve!!! :)

Yes, B is for Brian Regen. My family LOVES Brian Regen. He's a comedian, and he is HILARIOUS! We all quote him all the time. He's clean, and goofy and just so hysterically funny! Last Christmas my mom got us all tickets to go see him live! We had these really awesome loge seats! It was a GREAT night!! Check out some of his stuff on his site! You will get a good laugh!!

I'll leave you will a LO. These are my wonderful parents. They volunteered for the annual Band Breakfast this summer to help raise money for the High School Marching Band of which Cameron is a part of. I think they woke up at 5 am for it!! They are troopers! :) :)

Aren't my parents the cutest?

The owner of the screen printing place I work at called me in to work for a little over an hour this morning. I guess he hasn't done any Christmas shopping for his family so he's working on some tee shirts and sweatshirts for them and needed some artwork done. He paid me in cash, so that was a nice little bonus. But it was sort of a bummer to have to go in to work today. Oh well, its over and now I can relax and enjoy the afternoon with Josh! :)

Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!

{Another couple CT LOs}

Ok - first things first. I saw this funny quiz and thought I'd find out if I was naughty or nice this year. Turn out . . .

I Was Nice This Year

You Were 35% Naughty, 65% Nice

Okay, so you weren't *entirely* nice this year
But Santa doesn't expect a modern girl to be perfect
You were good enough - and you'll be rewarded for it

Ok so I was nice. But just BARELY! Isn't a 65% a D!? I think I just barely passed. Oh well, at least I'm not on the naughty list!! haha.

Take the quiz and link back to my comments so I can see if you were naughty or nice!

Alrighty - as promised my last couple CT LOs.

Using a fun kit called "Michele" by Isyndra, I scrapped all the pics from "November's Meeting of the Beading Beauties".

credits

This LO . . . oh this LO. I just can't decide. Do I like it? Do I hate it? Should I re-do it?! I just don't know. I scrapped it over a week ago and I still keep thinking about it. I guess that's not a good sign. I need help. Honestly, does this one need to be re-done? I know its busy and messy, but I thought that's what I wanted! Argh! I just don't know!

Ok - moving on. One last CT LO. . . . I used quite a few different scraphead products! I used Flerg's new "Pink Paper Alpha", Carol Abram's "Rainbow Ribbons", Carol's "Paisley Passion: The Pastel Series" papers, my own "Do Me A Solid" papers, and some fun flowers from "Spring is in the Air" kit by Minna Rajala (I recolored them, and they recolor BEAUTIFULLY!!)

full credits

That's it!  I'm outta here!  Off to work on my digi-journal!

{A couple CT LOs}

Just wanted to show off some sweet products from my Creative Teams.

Shandy has a December grab bag packed full of good stuff! And its only $2.00!! I highly recommend you pick it up! Anyway, Shandy authorized me to say that I used one of the goodies inside the grab bag to scrap this LO last night. (All elements and papers from the grab bag, EXCEPT for the cardboard, brads, and notepaper - find full credits here.)

This is my brother Scotty and I, and Scotty and my niece Eden. Scotty's in the MTC (missionary training center) right now! We miss him. Christmas is just going to be a little weird without him. But we know he's where he should be. So its all good.

Using Carol Abram's "Festive Bows with Tags", Flerg's "Christmas Mini-Kit", and Tabby Lewis' "Slient Night" paper pack, I scrapped this festive sparkly LO from pics of Josh and I in Salt Lake City for my birthday weekend last week.

Ok I'm outta time. A couple more later tonight!!!

{a is for . . . }

A digi-scrap designer from 'Down Under' who's blog I adore, is doing this really fun A to Z blogging thing and I just think its a swell idea! So, I'm starting today. It should be a fun way to get to know me a little better. :) Whenever I feel like it, I'll post an A to Z post and eventually make it all the way through the alphabet.

Adriana Trigiani to be more specific. She is my favorite author. I love everything she writes. She is so talented, and funny, and romantic. It's just the perfect mix. I LOVE recommending her books to my friends, so EVERYONE go out and read anything by Adriana. Her Big Stone Gap series is fabulous, although I'm not finished with the entire series. And my favorite so far has probably been "Lucia, Lucia". This photo was taken in September of '06 at a meeting of my book club. All the women in my family are in a book club. My mom and I INSISTED everyone read "Lucia, Lucia". Read it. It's wonderful!!!

{my wild & crazy tree!}

Ok so here is my tree! I LOVE IT. It's bright and fun and totally non-traditional. It's really hard to get a good photo of it though! I really gotta get a better camera. None of these pics do it justice but OH WELL! :)

I used my very own kit, "It's Christmas Time in the City" for this 2-pager. My tree actually inspired the kit in the first place! :) There are only a few things that aren't from the kit. For full credits, you can visit my gallery.

Ang has this fun little Christmas quiz on her blog, so I stole it!

1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate? Hot Chocolate if I had to pick.  But I do like Egg Nog.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? He wraps them up!

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? Ours are red and green on the house and MULTI-COLORED FUN on the tree!  I guess we just aren't white light people!

4. Do you have mistletoe? No!  Dang, I should get some!

5. When do you put up your decorations? Haha.  Um. . . . two days ago!  But that is not ideal!  Next year I swear I'm doing it the weekend after Thanksgiving!

6. What is your favorite holiday dish? Mom's Christmas Morning Breakfast Casserole, with English Muffins and jam!  Mmmmm.  I can't wait!

7. Favorite holiday memory as a child:  Sleeping all together in the same room on Christmas Eve with all my brothers.  We still do it!  HAHA  We have had to move it into the living room so we all fit now, but we still sleep in the same room, spouses and all.  Now that Christian has a baby, I'm sure it'll be different but we'll figure something out! :)

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa: I confronted my mom at a young age and DEMANDED she stop lying to me and tell me the truth RIGHT NOW!  I was irate!  I couldn't believe she would lie to me, she was one of my best friends!  I was very upset and poor Mom was not prepared because I was so young.  Haha.  SORRY MOM!  I was (am) pretty dramatic!

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? Yes, Christmas Pajamas!

10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree?  See pics above!!  LOTS of color and sparkle and TONS of lights!!!

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? LOVE to look at it, don't love driving or being in it!

12. Can you ice skate? Yeah.  But only straight forward and semi-slowly.  It hurts my stupid weak ankles.

13. Do you remember your favorite gift? Probably my American Girl Doll, Kirsten.  It was a BIG DEAL when I got her!  I LOVED her.  And I took good care of her.

Well, I ran all over today getting the last stuff on the list.  I just have to finish putting gifts togther and wrapping!  And MAN do I love to wrap!!  I wish money wasn't tight this year, cuz I'm dying to buy lots of pretty ribbon and paper!  I LOVE to wrap extravagantly.  But what I have will do!  :) :)

OH!  And if you live in the Provo area, here's something I learned today!  The UPS Store in Provo does FREE Same Day MTC Delivery if your package is under 5 pounds!  I knew they did Same-Day delivery, but I didn't know it was free!!  I was so excited when I dropped off Scotty's Christmas present today! Woo hoo!!

See ya later!!

{real trees vs. fake trees]

I have nothing against people who get fake Christmas trees. Getting a real one is a totally hassle. It's expensive, you have to water it all the time (which for some reason is hard to remember for me), they leave needles all over, and then you have to deal with getting rid of it after the season is over.

BUT there is NOTHING like a real tree. It just feels different having it in your house. It makes the entire house smell like Christmas. I just LOVE having a real tree. I love going to pick it out. Going through rows of trees looking for the perfect one. I love setting it up and having a new and unique canvas to work with. I REALLY want my kids to remember having a real tree, so I will keep getting them for as long as I can! And while I figure eventually I will have to give in and get a fake tree some day down the road, I will REVEL in getting a real tree every year that I can.

This year was no exception. I LOVE our real tree!!

{just pluggin' away}

Does anyone else feel like there are just a million little things (and some big ones too) to get done before Christmas?! And the big day is right around the corner!! I have made a schedule for the rest of this week and I'm happy to say I am going to make it! All of those things that HAD to be done by Monday, (two projects for my young women, finishing and mailing our Christmas cards, shipping packages to Josh's aunt and grandparents) are done thanks to some big help from my amazing husband and wonderful mom. I even got my Christmas tree finished last night too! I feel a big weight has lifted and for the first time since . . . (well, I don't know when the last time was) I sat on the couch last night for a good 30 minutes and did NOTHING. I know, it sounds silly, but it was a big deal for me! The last few weeks, heck month, have been really hectic. But, I think I'm ok. I think I'm going to get it all done. I just have to stick to my schedule and keep pluggin' away.

This is me, finishing my Christmas cards! What a relief!!! I send out 75. That might not sound like that many, but for a newly married couple, I think its a lot!! Last Christmas I hand-made 75 cards!! It totally consumed most of my December last year. And they were beautiful. But this year, thanks to digi-scrap, that was not the case. This was soooo much easier!

Speakin' of digi-scrap I realized I have some LOs I never put on my blog. A lot of you may have already seen them in the gallieries, but oh well!

Another LO from the Rodee Thanksgiving!

LOVE this fall kit by Minna Rajala. It had so many fun elements and papers. She is the best!

Coming Soon . . .

This photo is from over a year ago before my little nephew Noah was born. It's hard to believe he's already 1! I just loved this photo of them, so I had to scrap it! Thanks to Tabby Lewis for this awesome snowflake paper!!

I'm planning to scrap a page of my newly finished Christmas tree, so you'll have to wait for the LO to be done to see pictures. It turned out very cute this year!

That's all from me! Hope you are all having a great day!

{happy birthday to me!!}

Yes, today is my 27th birthday! Right now I sit on a gorgeous spindly legged sofa in a gorgeous suite in downtown Salt Lake City where my amazing husband whisked me away to for the night! And now I've been given some free relaxation computer time! I'm so content and happy right now!

It's been such a nice day. I have had so many sweet emails and ecards and phone calls with wishes of Happy Birthday from all my friends and family! I did have to work, but it wasn't too bad. I even got off a couple hours early, which allowed me to get a few things checked off my ever-growing Christmas to do list. Then we headed out and had the yummiest dinner at Johnny Carinos! It was DELICIOUS!!!! I love that place. I think I could eat there every night. It's probably a good thing its not very close to where we live! Then we came here, to the hotel! It's GORGEOUS. I wish I had the cable for my camera so I could upload a picture.

I don't know what fun things Josh has up his sleeve for tomorrow, but I do a lot of what we are doing tomorrow will be Christmas shopping. We still have a lot to do!

Well, let's see . . . OH YES. ScrapMatters is having a template challenge! Kristie is hosting for the very first time, bless her heart! And its a REALLY fun challenge. You get this template that Kristie designed from one of her own LOs for free!

For all the details, rules and what not go: HERE. One lucky winner will win a $5 GC to the store!! :) So scrap it up! Here's the LO I came up with for the challenge.

Everything I used came from ScrapMatters. You can see the full credits here.

These photos are from a marching band competition we went to this past October. We went to cheer on my little brother Cameron!

This week we finally got a Christmas tree. I LOVE to have a real tree! It actually didn't take long to find the perfect one! We strapped it to the top of the car and hauled it home!

When we got it home, we decided to rearrange the entire living room in order to give the tree a REALLY good spot! Plus, it was just time for a change. AND with the new set up, I get my own little office space area. It's just more of a "work-space" feel now. I LOVE it!

As soon as the tree is all finished and pretty, I'll definitely post photos!

Well, I guess that is all. I think I'll join my hubby for some TV veggin' out. See ya!

{It's free to doodlie do it - caution: freebie ahead}

Guess what! There's a new freebie by yours truly up at scraphead.com!

Me - I love doodles!! They give my LOs a fun casual unique look!! So it was just a matter of time before I started making my own!!

Hope you enjoy these! Get 'em here! (Flergs also has a rockin' freebie up at scraphead right now so grab that while you are there as well!

I got the BEST kit today with some of my gift certificates from my win at the digi-dares. I was excited when I saw it in the store, but when I downloaded it and started to play I got MORE AND MORE AND MORE excited!

It's called Chloe's Treasures by Paint the Moon (Annie Manning).

First of all, this kit is HUGE! There is just a TON packed into it! The papers and elements are SOOOO realistic and beautiful!! I wish I could show you the LO I did with it, but its for a Christmas gift and I don't wanna spoil the surprise for the lucky recipient! But I had it printed and this kit seriously just prints up BEAUTIFULLY!!! I could not be more pleased!! Thanks soooo much Annie!

This is Morgan's little girl Gracelyn! I LOVE HER!
The QP exchanges at ScrapMatters are AWESOME. We get sooo many adorable QPs! I will totally post when they start another one!
