I'm Alive!

Sorry for the lack of posts this week!!  It's been an insanely busy week.  Between making my CT call choices, working on an upcoming collab, getting today's new product ready, and preparing to leave for Bear Lake tomorrow, I have definitely not had a spare minute to blog!!!

BUT - before I get to my new product. I have an announcement that I think many of you have been waiting for!! I had ninety applications come in for my Britt Girls call. This week has seriously been a roller coaster. Fun to look through so many inspiring and amazing galleries and read such great applications, but awful having to turn away so many of you!  The good thing I got out of it all was a fabulous new team. Ok - time for Show Offs!!

Disney World Planning Update

I know that many of you who wrote in to give me tips about Disney World will be patting me on the back for our choice to put this in our Disney World Schedule!! I'm VERY excited to tell you guys that . . .

YEP! We bought tickets to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party for Friday, Oct. 2. At first we weren't interested in going because when we read the description on Disney's website, it sounded an awful lot like Mickey's Halloween Treat at California Adventure that we went to back in 2007. Don't get me wrong - Mickey's Halloween Treat (its since been renamed to Mickey's Trick or Treat Party) was a blast! But it was because we were with my little nephews. It was very fun, but not something we'd want to do again without kids. There weren't fireworks and the parade wasn't really a parade. It was just 1 float and some dancers. Fun for the kids, but nothing really incredible. We are already spending enough on this trip, we didn't want to spend an extra hundred bones.

But - after getting many, many emails from you guys suggesting (some demanding) that we go to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party (or MNSSHP) as the Disney pros call it), and telling us all the cool stuff that goes on there, we decided it just sounded like too much fun to pass up! We are BIG Halloween fans, so I know we're going to love it!! Now we just have to come up with some easy costumes that we can pack and be comfortable in all night. I'm SO EXCITED!!!

As we make plans like this I get more and more and MORE excited for our trip!! I seriously can't wait. Only 65 more days! It's going by so quickly!!! Thank goodness.

Don't forget to turn your CT Applications in before midnight tonight. I won't be accepting any after that. :)

Happy Pioneer Day!

Today is a big State holiday here in Utah. So happy 24th of July - aka Pioneer Day! I think Josh and I are going to take it REALY nice and easy and have a yummy dinner somewhere and just chill.

But that's not what you're here to read about today, is it? I have a new template pack to release today!!

It's Finally Time!

It's time. Time for a CT call!!!



I've been working my Britt Girls hard for a whole year now!! And that means its time to have a call and grab myself a few new Creative Team members! Here's what I'm looking for: scrapping talent, good realistic shadowing and depth, creativity, willingness to commit and work hard on my CT, and a happy and positive attitude.

I take my CT seriously. I figure if I'm going to pay you with free access to my store, then I should be able to expect you to consider your position as a Britt Girl to be a job. You work --> I pay. :) Don't get me wrong, we have a lot of fun too!

If you want to apply - do like the ad says. Email me a link to your most complete gallery, a short bio, and a list of other CTs you belong to BEFORE 7/27/09. I won't accept any applications that come in on or after the 27th.

What is with this day?!

So - its not even 11:00 and already this day is a stress-fest. So much going on with design work at SM. I think being a designer is a lot more work than people imagine. It's not just the fun stuff - creating cute stuff and scrapping. It's all the behind the scenes stuff that really gets me feeling run-down.

But I don't want to focus on the negative. It just makes me feel worse. So - let me focus on something positive. I'll share some of the pages I scrapped last week. This first one is for the new "My Story Matters" challenge I started this yesterday.

I REALLY love the My Story Matters challenges. Creating this personal history is so fun. I can just imagine my future children holding it on their laps and reading about me and learning about my life. PLUS its fun to be nostalgic and reminisce. BUT almost NO ONE does them. I get about 6 or 7 entries for each challenge at that's it (and that's counting the SM Team members who do them)! I can almost guarantee you that they are the least popular challenge at SM. Which makes me worry that they'll get canceled some day. I strongly urge you guys to jump in and start scrapping these challenges. They are just so much fun!! They definitely aren't getting the following they deserve! HAHA

This next page I scrapped with a fabulous new collab. kit by Tangie Baxter and DeCrow Designs called "Medieval Faire". It's so fun!!! Makes me wish I could go to a Renaissance Faire or something!

This is the page I did at the Speed Scrap last week. My family went to support my cousin who was in town last week touring with his band. It was the craziest, hardest, screamiest 'music' I've ever heard. But he was living his dream and we were there to support him and that's all that matters.

Magical Autographs Album

When she approached me about the idea, I was ALL IN. I've seen her awesome work and I knew an adorable autograph book was just what every family heading to Disney needed!!  And its in the store just waiting for you . . .

Then when you get home, add the adorable frames to your pics and stick 'em to the tags! 

I seriously can't imagine how cool it would be to have an amazing keepsake of my own like this from when I was little! I am soooo going to do this when I have kids someday. AND since its all designed and ready to go, its not going to take you a month to create this awesome project! It's a SNAP!

Well, hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!! Yesterday we went to a parade in my hometown to cheer on my little bro who was marching with the marching band. We cheered so loud and he totally heard us, even though he didn't break form and smile or laugh. He did GREAT!!

You'll notice that they were not playing when they passed in front of us. Of course!! Oh, well. We heard them in the last two parades we were at. But my mom was DETERMINED to hear them play. She looked at me and said, "Well. I'm just going to have to chase them". And off she went. Chasing after the band, down the parade route.

She's a nut.  I love it.  AND one of my BFFs' little boy won a baby contest, so she was in the parade too, riding on the back of a flatbed truck!! YAY FOR YOU SHAN AND ETHAN!

He's stinkin' cute, huh?! It's no wonder he won!  

After the parade Josh had TWO soccer games in the scorching heat. I think it almost reached 100 degrees here!!! Then we had a YUMMY dinner at one of our favorite spots - Happy Sumo. Mmmm. All in all, it was a fun Saturday.

Today we are headed to church to teach our new Sunday School class. Two weeks ago we were released from our jobs teaching the little tots in nursery and got put into teaching the 13 and 14 year olds in Sunday School. Talk about a big change!! These kids actually LISTEN to us and learn and have actual comments to make on the lesson. HAHA! We were pretty nervous and scared, but once we met the kids and made it through our first lesson we went from nervous to excited. It's a lot of fun. AND one of the moms stopped us in the hall on our way out the door afterwards and said her daughter told her that she "has the coolest new Sunday School Teachers". YESSSSSSSS. SEE!! I told you guys I was cool. HAH!! Sooooo good to hear that we won at least one of them over.

Today is INCREDIBLE!

Today is the day I get to release my new collab. kit I got to do with the wonderful GG Digital Designs!! This kit is one I've been thinking about and planning on doing for a long time. It's so fun to actually see it come to life. So - here is . . .

I'm Finally Cool

Yep - I'm finally cool you guys. Especially in the eyes of my hubby. And all it took was $200 bucks.



Yes, we got iPhones. Josh's awesome grandparents sent us some birthday money and we knew just what we wanted to buy! I'm the proud new nervous owner of a shiny white 16GB iPhone 3GS. I am still bumbling around on it, and constantly praying not to drop it, but mostly I feel cool. Sort of. It can do lots of neat-o stuff. So that's fun. I'm sure I'll be a pro at it soon enough.
