Disneyland Day 2

Sorry its taken me so long to get to these Disneyland re-cap posts!! Right after we got back from Disneyland I went into full on party planning mode to get Scarlett's party together. I went a little over the top. So I was BUSY!!! But now that its done, I can get back to being a better blogger. (Party pics are coming! I promise.)

Ok - so back to our trip to Disneyland. Day 2 was Saturday and the park was BUSY from the moment it opened. We tried not to let the crowds bother us and just take our time and do the little things.

There were some friends from Wonderland greeting guests as we entered the park, but there were no real lines and it was SUPER crazy. We did get to meet the White Rabbit.

Right when we were next to meet Alice . . .

. . . she whisked a different little girl away to go play with the Mad Hatter and we were out of luck. :(

Bummer! Oh well - into the park we went.

Stopped to take a picture with the Partners statue, which ended up being one of my FAVE photos of the day!!

Check out the blossoms on the trees around the hub in the background of that photo! They were CRAZY pink!

And some cute baby/castle photos.

Into Fantasyland for some rides. Casey Jr. was up first.

Scarlett really loved this. The wind in our faces, the song, it was all very fun!

After another ride or two, and a nap for Baby in the stroller, it was time to head back to Main Street to check something off my Disneyland bucket list!!! A ride in the Lilly Belle! The Lilly Belle is a special private luxury train car that they have out once in a while. You have to stop at Main Street Station and sign up for a time to ride and the slots fill up fast! But we signed up first thing in the morning and were able to get slots to ride at noon. YAY!

My ticket! (they give you these special tickets to keep after you board)

An awesome picture of Walt and Lillian on a little table in the back of the car, right by where we were seated. Walt named the car the Lilly Belle, after his wife.

Hidden Mickeys in the carpet. Do you see it?

A conductor rides in the car with you and tells you stories and facts along the grand circle tour.

Lillian Disney made these lace curtains!

This photo is a little blurry, but we just handed our camera to a fellow passenger. Oh well!

What a fun memory. Ever since I heard about the Lilly Belle I've wanted to ride it. It was magical.

The rest of the day was pretty chill. We had Scarlett's silhouette done on Main Street. The Cast Member said she'd been cutting profiles on Main Street for 35 years. Wow!

It literally took her about 30 seconds to cut. I couldn't believe it! We decided this would be Scareltt's main souvenir. What a special thing for her to have from Disneyland when she was almost 1 year old.

Then we rode Jingles!! She's the gorgeous lead horse on King Arthur's Carousel.

And we took Scarlett's special Sword in the Stone photo. This is the spot we've decided to take her picture EVERY single trip to compare how much she's grown. It had only been 4 months since our previous trip, but look how much she changed!!

Her legs are so much longer! Her head comes up so much higher on the anvil. Wow. This little comparison got us SO excited to keep doing this tradition.

One magical moment for me was when we stumbled upon Swing Night. The lights, the live music, the little old people (and lots of young people too) dancing cheek to cheek. It's one of the neatest things ever.

It was a busy, crazy day. But it was a lot of fun, filled with magical moments. I wish I was back there right now. . .

  1. I used my sons' Main Street silhouettes to make some of these this week: :)

  2. We love the Main Street silhouttes! We gave them to the grandparents as gifts after our trip last year!

  3. Can I ask where you got the life jacket element you used on your page? I've been looking for one, but it doesn't look like it's in the kit. Scarlett is sooooooo cute!

  4. Love love love this post. And that was a wonderful idea too to get the comparison shots, that would be so fun to follow as the months and years go. Your family will always have Disney ;)

  5. How inspiring! I totally want to ride the Lilly Belle now. Great shots!

  6. So CUTE! I love her little outfit! Her silhouette turned out adorable!!!

  7. Britt, I love how you described your trip, felt like we were there... Love your pictures! I especially looooove the silohette souvenier.. how neat is that! I'm going to have to do that next time! Loved your post.. how special!

  8. So fun! I'm glad you guys got to spend time together as just your little family. That is such a smart thing to do. I've never heard of Lilly Belle and now I want to ride it. I'll have to add that to my bucket list too.

  9. Hi Britt, can I ask a quick question? How early did you get to the station to sign up to ride in the Lily Belle? That looks amazing! We're planning on going out to Disneyland May 2013, and I know the family would LOVE to do that too! Thanks for sharing your trip, it's so fun to read about it and I love your pictures!

  10. Hi Karen! We just stopped at the station as soon as we got there in the morning. You have to just get lucky that a) they are running the Lilly Belle that day, b) that they have the staff to allow passengers on it, and c) that there are spots available. Just try for it and hope for the best.

  11. I always learn so much when I read your Disney posts and add a bunch of things to my "I wanna do that" list! LOL! These pics are just precious and I LOVE the silhouette! Had I known that I would have done that with Kaitlyn at DL when she was 2. I wonder if WDW has the same thing?? Thanks SO MUCH for sharing this!

  12. You know she is just to most adorable thing ever. Right? What a fun mom you are she is super lucky! I love your comparison pictres. And as always you make me want to jump in the car and head to Cali for some Disney Magic. Thanks for the tips on the Lily Belle. I have never heard of it and now I can't wait to hopefully get a chance to ride it one day. Thanks for sharing!!!!

  13. You always make me feel that Disney love when you post about your visits to the park. What a wonderful legacy you are creating for Scarlett :)

Thanks also for the pic of the swing dancing, I was so afraid of losing that in all the renovations. We have spent many a night watching the couples dancing there, and you're right it is magical.
